What’s the point of a setting powder if it leaves your makeup looking dull or powdery? The beauty of Ciaté London Extraordinary Setting Powder in Translucent is that it doesn’t change the finish of foundation underneath: “I prefer my makeup to be more glowy than matte, and this powder doesn’t dull that finish—just sets it,” says Allure’s Sarah Kinonen. “It is lightweight, blends easily, and keeps my makeup in place during the workday.” It also helps with hiding fine lines or blemishes: “This finely milled powder feels smooth and soft on skin,” says Allure’s Annie Blay, who applied the translucent powder with a powder puff (a fluffy brush works nicely too). “The texture felt great and had a blurring effect.” She loved the finish, but found the translucent shade to be “a bit ashy—the honey shade is probably better suited for deeper complexions.”
