Ah, the Cannes Film Festival. Every year, celebrities arrive to participate in a showcase of the latest achievements in cinema, parading down one of the most elegant red carpets in the world before taking their seats. The gowns are glamorous, the jewels are opulent, the hair is enchanting, and the makeup—well, if Heidi Klum has anything to say about it, the makeup is ready to party.
I haven’t been in a club in a long time (or ever, really—I’m boring), but I’ve been club-adjacent thanks to much more party-prone friends for over a quarter of a century. One thing I’ve noticed: If there’s one thing that hasn’t changed about clubbing, it’s the makeup. Specifically, the eye makeup. It’s a glitter fest—the less subtle the better. And if that glitter is in contrast with dark eye shadow and liner, bonus points. And that’s exactly the look it seems Klum was going for at the Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning screening on Wednesday, May 14.

The supermodel and TV personality wore a sparkling, silver Elie Saab mermaid gown. Her sculpted, Old Hollywood waves, styled by Jennifer Yepez, flowed flawlessly over her bare shoulders. Her long, pale peachy-pink nails matched her low-key lipstick shade. But just a few inches higher was an eye look that feels more Kesha than Cannes—and I mean that in the best way.
