This spring, we all need to touch grass to get a little break from the blue light and catch some sunshine. In addition to releasing your mind from endless scrolling, you might find some manicure inspiration amid the fresh air. This is exactly what 2025’s spring nail trends are encouraging us to do. You’re probably reading this on a screen, but experts say the best place to get manicure inspiration this season isn’t through your FYP—it’s by stepping outside. “This spring, nail colors are really playing into nature and its elements,” says Detroit-based nail artist Cyndia Robinson.
Last year had a heavy emphasis on primary colors and otherworldly brights, but nail experts predict more realism for this spring’s nail color palette. Robinson says rich earth tones like terra-cotta and Pantone’s mocha mousse will replace idyllic pastels. You’ll even see some jewel tones, like the glamorous emerald and amethyst polishes at The Blondes fall-winter 2025 runway show.
But traditional spring hues aren’t completely out: Muted yellows and sky blues will also be accounted for in the vernal nail color roll call, though they’ll be getting “a bit of extra jazz” with dainty jewels, pearls, and crystals, according to Los Angeles-based nail artist Sarah Chue. New York City-based nail artist Miss Pop agrees, noting that chrome and cat eye will also be ubiquitous. “Every shade will be finished to catch all the light,” she says.
